
This year more than 17,000 readers voted for Guardian and Observer Travel Awards 2008, and that was
22nd year of survey, which is amongst the most respected travel awards in the industry.
We are glad to inform that Krakow has been chosen as a second ( after Sydney) city in category : Favorite overseas city.
This prestigious nomination will be the boost for Krakow's tourism, and since last few years we encounter enormous number of British tourists,
from peace loving groups of elders resting in Tatra mountains area, through business and science congresses and organized travel agencies tours, to pub-crawling groups
of young British adding some flavor to the local night life.
The big impact on tourism will also have enlargement of located near the city the international Airport - Balice, with numerous connections to big European cities by big Airlines like Lufthansa,
and the cheap ones like Ryanair.
According to Guardian the locate of Krakow has been quite a surprise for editors, last year Krakow has been number ten on the list.
Similar jump from last years ten position has been made by Croatia ( congratulations!) , the third in the European country category.
